The proof was already in their inbox

Hargreaves & Hall Photography

I shoot around forty weddings a year and every couple emails me when the gallery lands. I always meant to ask them for a review and I almost never did, because by the time I read the email I was already editing the next wedding. lovesignal flags the happy ones in Gmail and drafts the ask, so it takes ten seconds instead of being a job I keep putting off. What surprised me was how many of those emails I had just been letting go.

Honestly, can I use this for free?

Yes, properly free. No credit card to sign up. It installs into the Gmail you already use and runs on your real emails, so you are judging it on your own inbox rather than on a demo.

You get three review requests a month, which is enough to watch the whole thing happen end to end: lovesignal spots a customer who is happy, drafts the ask in your voice, you send it, the review lands. You see it work before you decide it is worth paying for.

Upgrade if and when it is obviously paying for itself, and not before.

The problem

The praise you get and the praise buyers see are two different piles.

You are great at what you do. Your inbox is full of customers telling you they love your work. But your public profile is not as full. The only praise that wins your next customer is the reviews they can read.

Your competitor with 100 reviews wins

You have the same skills, same price and probably do a better job. The competitor with more reviews gets the call. You don’t have the chance to even show your recent work.

AI Overviews can’t find you

AI answers cite businesses with review signals. A lack of fresh, constantly updating reviews means you miss the mention in these critical searches and recommendations.

The praise never goes public

Your team get plenty of thank-you emails, plenty of ‘you’ve done such a great job’, and everyone means to ask for a review, but unless it’s set-and-forget it doesn’t happen. The five-star review that was sitting right there never gets posted.

Timing

The best time to ask is ten seconds after they say thank you

Timing is the whole game with reviews. Every other tool asks on a schedule: job marked complete, invoice paid, a week on Tuesday. By then the feeling has faded and the request is just another email from a company. lovesignal asks while your customer is still delighted, because the praise they just sent you is the trigger. No other tool can see that moment. It is sitting in your inbox.

The scheduled ask

  1. Tue 9:04amYour customer emails: “the photos are perfect”
  2. Tue 9:05amNothing happens. The tool isn’t looking at your inbox.
  3. 7 days laterAn automated request arrives from a review platform.

Ignored. The feeling has passed, and it didn’t come from you.

The lovesignal ask

  1. Tue 9:04amYour customer emails: “the photos are perfect”
  2. Tue 9:04amlovesignal flags the love signal and drafts your reply.
  3. Tue 9:05amYou click send. They’re still smiling at their photos.

Posted. Asked at the peak, in your words, from your address.

Why now

Be visible to AI even as a small business

Prospective customers are starting to ask AI before they Google. Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Claude answer by reading review platforms. The businesses with recent reviews get named first. The rest don’t get mentioned despite their credentials. So the praise stuck in your inbox isn’t just a missed testimonial now. It’s the reason a tool that could have recommended you had nothing to go on.

Google AI Overviews

The top of Google now starts with AI. The businesses cited are the ones with active Google review profiles. Sparse profiles get skipped.

ChatGPT

When buyers ask ChatGPT for a recommendation, it reads G2, Trustpilot, and Google reviews. Quotable praise becomes the answer.

Claude

Claude is where serious B2B research happens. It pulls from review platforms when shortlisting vendors. Reviews are how you make the list.

Questions, answered

How does the extension access Gmail?

It reads the page you already have open, the same DOM your browser renders. It never connects to the Gmail API and never logs into your account. If you can see the email, so can lovesignal; if Gmail is closed, it sees nothing.

Do you store my emails?

No. Email content is processed to draft the request and is not retained on our servers. We keep the minimum needed to count your sends and run your account, nothing more.

Which review platforms does it support?

Google, Trustpilot, and G2. You paste your review URL once, and lovesignal links every request straight to it. More platforms are on the way.

What does it cost?

There’s a free tier with 3 sends a month, forever. Pro is $19/mo for unlimited sends, and Team is $79/mo with 5 seats. No card needed to start.

Will my customers know it’s automated?

No. The request sends from your normal Gmail as a normal reply, in your words. lovesignal drafts it; you send it. To your customer it’s just you, following up.

Does it send anything without me?

Never. Nothing leaves your inbox until you click send. lovesignal only ever drafts and suggests, the send is always your call.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome today, with Gmail on the web. Edge and other Chromium browsers work too. Firefox and Safari are on the roadmap.

Your happiest emails are sitting in one pile. Let’s move them to the one that counts.

Install lovesignal, open Gmail, and turn the next thank-you into a five-star review.
